Jiangnan University Holds Global Education Expo and Study Abroad Carnival

In order to promote the opening-up of high-level education in the new era, facilitate cooperation and exchange between domestic and foreign universities, and provide high-quality global educational resources for graduates with internationalized academic plans, Jiangnan University held the Global Education Expo and Study Abroad Carnival on campus on March 20th. Representatives from the Student Affairs Office (Career Guidance Center), the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, leaders from the Business School, and representatives from the co-organizer New Oriental Vision Overseas Education Co., Ltd., attended the event, with over 500 students from our university participating.

The event featured four main sections: presentations by admission officers from global institutions, a symposium on educational development and the cultivation of international talents, on-site consultations with global institutions, and a study abroad carnival. In the presentations, representatives from various academic fields were grouped into three main categories. For the business category, the UK Business Director of New Oriental Future, Ma Xing, shared insights on "Seizing Opportunities in UK Study Applications: Unveiling the Golden Rules". In the humanities and social sciences category, representatives from the University of Southern California and Johns Hopkins University discussed "Introduction and Application Strategies for USC" and "Application Strategies in Humanities and Social Sciences at Johns Hopkins, Using Education as an Example", respectively. In the science, technology, and arts category, representatives from the University of California, Irvine, and the Marangoni Institute in Italy presented on "UC Irvine Introduction and Employment Analysis for Some Science and Technology Majors" and "Environmentalism in Fashion".

The symposium on educational development and international talent cultivation engaged guests in lively discussions on topics like "How to Cultivate Talent with an International Perspective to Help Students Further Their Studies at Prestigious Universities Worldwide".

During the on-site consultations, representatives from over 30 globally renowned institutions, including Cornell University, Johns Hopkins University, the University of Bristol, and Monash University in Australia, engaged in face-to-face discussions with Jiangnan University students, providing insights into the characteristics, admission requirements, and academic specialties of institutions in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

At the Study Abroad Carnival, traditional Chinese elements such as ring toss, hand-painted folding fans, and doll parades offered interactive fun for the students, while also allowing them to experience the rich cultural heritage of China. This was aimed at enabling them to tell China's story and spread its voice through international exchanges.

Jiangnan University has always placed a high value on cultivating talent with an international perspective, diverse cultural understanding, and outstanding comprehensive qualities. In the future, the university plans to use this event as a springboard to further expand the global perspective of its faculty and students, assisting Jiangnan University students in high-quality educational advancement through multiple channels and contributing to the development of a research-oriented university with world renown, Chinese distinction, and Jiangnan style.
